Hello all!
I am unable to open a .dxf in AutoCAD 2017 because its looking for a missing cvltshp.shx. I've searched for this file with no success. Is there anyway I can bypass this? its not giving me a prompt to ignore...it wants me to point it to where the file is located. Thanks for any help provided.

Should not be a problem, can you upload this DXF-file so we can try that?
>> it wants me to point it to where the file is located
What happens if you show another SHX-file (e.g. TXT.SHX) ... it may show the fonts differently or miss some linetypes, but the drawing should continue to open.

Thanks for the reply Alfred. Attached is the dxf thats giving me issues. I will try to point it to another file but its specifically asking for the file mentioned above.
When I tried to point it to txt.shx, and any other .shx for that matter, it gave me the following error message: "xxxx.shx is a normal text font file, not a shape file."
Hi,
please try the attached DXF, I only removed the style definition and the DXF loaded fine (but without warranty about the content!)

That did the trick Alfred! I have 6 other sheets to this drawing...would you be willing to help me out with the rest?
Hi,
>> I have 6 other sheets
I see only 3 files in your post...
(if you ZIP them all together the upload is much faster)

I knew that...lol. Must be the excitement of finally getting this resolved. you work much faster than our IT.
Hi,
there are sht 1 to 3

Hi,
are the first three files in your ZIP different to the first 3 files you already uploaded?
- alfred -
Hi,
now the ZIP with sht 4-7
ATTENTION: sht5 was defect (had another DXF error besides of the missing SHX), so I had to run some repair steps, not sure if that is really complete!

You are very welcome, glad I could help!
