Line Color does not reflect layer color

Hello All

I'm using AutoCAD 2013 and no matter what I do my Line color always comes up green even

when the current layer color is red. I have to keep going back to proprieties and change line color

to red. Any advice would be helpful.

Find the attachments........

  1. May be your ACAD selection Green is Default.
  2. Check pen assignment, this option only you can see in layout.

please upload your cad file...............

Hi, Enter command COLOR and make sure it is set to BY LAYER format.

Check what is the value of system variable SETBYLAYERMODE. Default value is <255>.

Hey,
1. Select the line with this property.
2. Right click and select similar.
3. If the properties tool isn't already opened, open it by typing PROPS.
4. Change the layer to be By Layer.

This should solve your issue.
In the home tab, in the properties panel, change the color to be By Layer as well

AutoCAD2013 is not new by any means: -versions old now.
So what changed recently with your setup?
Or is the problem just in this one DWG file?

Tell us more.

Lots of good replies here except for those that use the keyboard...

Command: CECOLOR
Enter new value for CECOLOR <"BYLAYER">:

The same goes for CELTSCALE, CELTYPE, CELWEIGHT as well as hatches (HPCOLOR)...

I have tried both COLOR and CECOLOR and neither had the color of this array to match the layer.  Other arrays in other locations in the same drawing had the correct color.

None of the above solutions worked for me. Then I figured out all of the ones I had issues with were Block References. Solution there is to edit each block with the block editor and make sure all the parts of the block are layer "0", then each instance of the block will take on the ByLayer color if assigned.
