layout viewport & xref

hi every one , I have a problem 
I have master plan and I want to create 2 drawing from it 
but I want to show some entities in drawing and another in second drawings 

I freeze view port layer but when I make any new work in master plan and update the 2 drawings I found all entities have been show

how can I solve that 
any one can help me

Hi,

from your Viewport itself click inside it , then type Layer command . from the dialog that appear go to the VP Freeze column and start freeze the unwanted layers . any changes ?

I do that but when I do any change at xref which I take view port from it 
and the drawings update and the layer which I freeze go back to be UN freeze automatic
