Layer refers to block not in drawing?

I've done a purge check on a drawing.

Under non-purgeable items, I have a layer that has references to several thousand items, most of which are items inside blocks that are not in the list of block names in the drawing.

What is the risk or potential consequence of deleting the layer despite these orphaned references?

If I perform Qselect for items on the layer, I get 2 items but they do not display.  If I explode those items, next time I do a QS, nothing returns selected...

Easy rule: If you don't know - let it be!

If you don't want this layer, then do not use LayDel, use LayMrg (to Layer 0)
