Imperial input

I am relearning AutoCAD. When inputting imperial units I used to be able to enter 10-6 for 10 feet 6 inches. I am currently using AutoCAD 2024. However, when inputting a dimension I have to include quotation marks (i.e. ' for feet and " for inches). How do I enable the system to just take 10-6 without having to waste keystrokes inputting the quotations?

When set to Architectural units AutoCAD's Imperial distance entry has always been 10'6.

Though you can drop the inch ["] mark you cannot drop the foot ['] mark.

The only times a hyphen [-] is used is to indicate a negative number or a fraction like 10'6-1/2
