We have that set for 'AutoCAD DWG Launcher'.
what happens if your users try to open one of the dwgs?
1. By double clicking in windows explorer
2. By 'open' command in AutoCAD
Once they have a drawing open, does the icon show?
It's possible that they just don't have the icon stored on their machine for some reason.
Here's an article for how to change a filetype icon in windows 7, 8 & 10 (requires additional free software to make the changes) https://www.maketecheasier.com/change-file-type-icon-in-windows/
This is a little off. I solved this issue by doing the following:
Right Click on any .dwg file > Properties > General Tab > Change the "Opens with" from "Unknown App" to "AutoCAD DWG Launcher" > OK
That worked for me.
Changing the default app from the context menu didn't work for me but doing the same from Windows Settings > Aplicactios > Default Apps sorted out the issue.
