How did you create it?  Have you tried to open it with recover?  When I open it with wordpad, I see this:

(DWF V06.00)PK.............

Does that tell you anything?  It tells me that it is a drawing plot, not a drawing.  Change the file extension to DWF.

Hi,

i try a lot to open the file but it seems that it's corrupted for some reason... i suggest to do the follow:

1. Look in the same directory where the DWG resides and see if there is a BAK file of the same name. If so, rename the BAK extension to DWG and see if the file can then be opened.

2. Look in C:\Windows\Temp for files with an SV$ extension. If any exist with a similar name to the corrupted DWG file, then rename the extension to DWG and see if it can then be opened.

im using the latest version - 2017 and it should support the all the previous versions. And i have no connections with the creator of the cad file

Thanks for the solution credit.  Using a DWF file is just as easy and almost as convenient as using a drawing.  Use the dwfattach command to bring it into your drawing.  You should be able to use wipeouts or clipping to cut out the parts you don't need.

To bring a DWF into a drawing, use DWFATTACH command.  (You need to rename first so that the file extension is DWF). To mask, draw a closed polyline (with no curved edges).  Then use the wipeout command to mask off the items you want to change.  Then draw over them with the changes.  The xclip command might work on attached DWF files.  I admit that I haven't tried that because I would have been the DWF creator and would have had the DWG file.

Actually, you can use the DWFCLIP command to do this.

If you are having trouble renaming the file, be sure to use the file explorer view tab (Windows 10), Make sure "file name extensions" is checked.  This will allow you to rename the file extension.  If you turn off the extensions, it is difficult to rename the file.
