Hello,

For some unknown reason, my Autocad saves a normal DWG file also in DWFX format. As a result, I have 2 files in my documents. It's most likely related to some variable that I accidentally changed. Does anyone know how to get this back so that the end result is just one DWG?
Thanks,

Alex

@AlexBern44 ,

Please provide the operating system and AutoCAD version. Also let us know if you are saving to the cloud.

Valentin-WSP,

Win 7

AutoCAD 2016

I am not using the cloud.

Thanks for the link, but the solution mentioned in that thread, in particular the ISAVEBAK variable, did not solve the problem

@AlexBern44 ,

Interesting issue.

Set the ISAVEPERCENT = 0.

In your OPTIONS > Open and Save, set the Automatic save to 0 and uncheck Create backup copy with each save.  (May be your *.bak is set to open as DWFX - consider checking).

Also consider SAVEAS > Tools > Options:

Just for fun, also check the same for DWF:

Is your profile to Default AutoCAD?

Do you get the same issue with a NEW empty drawing?

Do you get the same issue with SAVEAS?

Otherwise resetting AutoCAD to defaults should fix this (see How to reset AutoCAD to defaults).

Please start command _OPTIONS, activate tab "Plot and Publish" and uncheck this:
