Let me try to explain what my student asked.  I could not find it.

I draw a line using @5<30.  It draws my line 5 units at 20 degrees

I draw a line from that endpoint using @5<30.  What I am looking for is for that line to be drawn 20 degrees from the end of the previous line segment.

Is this possible?  Theoretically, I should be able to draw 12 segments in succession using that input to create an enclosed polygon.

I had a typo. I meant that the lines will be drawn at 30 degrees

I don't think it's possible.

You can use the tracking setting to help you, but you can't use @x<a as input.

You can use relative polar as guidance, but if you type the angle as you did, it always uses the current UCS.
