specific greek letters appear as numbers

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I use autocad 2017 on a mac and I have a problem with the text on leaders.
A certain greek letter (π) appears as a number (as you can see in the screenshot).

I have changed many fonts and tried every text style from the drop down menu, but none of these seem to work.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thank you in andvance.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Irene,

What macOS version do you have on your Mac?
How the text from your screenshot should look?
Do you have this problem only with leaders or with MTEXT and TEXT too?

Hello!

I have macOS Mojave - version 10.14.6.

This problem appears with MTEXT and TEXT too.

On the screenshot below I have circled how the letter should appear (π). The arrows show how the letter appears after I save the file (it appears as the number 1).

I don't have AutoCAD 2017 for Mac installed and I'm working on Catalina, but I cannot reproduce your issue in 2019 and higher AutoCAD for Mac versions.
Do you have this issue in all of your drawings or just in one?
Can you share the drawing with the problem here?

As I wrote before, I don't have macOS and AutoCAD version you are using.

But I tested your drawing in 2016 version of AutoCAD for Mac (see attached) - look at the leaders in cyan color. Does they look correct on your Mac?

This is how they look on my side:

At what point does a letter π  turn into a number?

When you type it or when you quit MTEXT editor?

Yes this is how the letter π should appear.

I have this problem after I close the file and open it again.

Accepted solution
I noticed that you use 2004 DWG format for saving drawings.
Try to use 2013 DWG format as default format for saving drawings.
Do you see the problem in this case?
