Make sure you use a closed polyline to select as a hatch boundary. If the polyline is open hatching will fail. You can check whether a PLine is open or closed in the properties.

If you have trouble closing your polyline you can also use the _.BO or _.BPOLY command to create a closed polyline for you.

Hi xouzouriniii,

As @Michiel.Valcke mentions, a closed area is required to get any hatch to work. BO (boundary is a great way to get this to work if your lines are really close but not quite closed.

I have attached a Screencast for you that shows a batt insulation I downloaded and then add to my hatch library. I insert this into a wall that is closed on the ends. WHen I do this I see that the hatch needs to be rotated 90 degrees and then I scaled it up as well (x16). Lastly, I change the origin point for the hatch so it looks centered in the cavity.

I will attach this pattern to this post as well.
