AS the title says. Why is this?

I run the create project database and some of them dont go into the project database.

I think this is the reason that some parts are missing desciptions and user data in the BOM it seems to be these missing ones that dont find properly.

I have 7 default cat files on the c drive including under my user profile.

The only one that has been edited recently is the one in the directory that autocad is telling me its pointing to. my custom destination I setup to test this. C:\ae\catalogues.

The others haven't been edited since last year or 2013.

How about other mdb files?

last MDB to update was a file called *previouseprojectnamehere*_update.mdb but that was a few days ago. Even adding something to the catalogue browser has not put anything with the edited date as today.

And, just in case I've misunderstood everything... When you add something using the catalog browser, you're able to find it when searching the catalog inside AcadE, but not inside the default_cat.mdb?

This is indeed the case.
Even when I manually add stuff to the MDB file it seems to pull into the catalogue browser but doesn't pull information through to the report section.

Hi @luke_cope

You could be fighting more than one issue here. Let's break it down and perform some tests in steps.

1. Run the AECATALOGCONFIG command and check what is path set for the Catalog Database

2. Open the catalog browser and add a new component to any standard family like a Pushbutton.

3. Close AutoCAD Electrical and browse to the .mdb location noted in step 1 and check if the new entry made it to the database.
Give it some time to sync if using a network location. Check what the last modified timestamp of the database.

4. Insert a standard AutoCAD Electrical symbol like a Pushbutton (Not a custom made one) and assign it the new catalog.
Sometime the issues are just with the symbols so lets try this on standard symbol that is provided by AutoCAD.

5. Run a standard BOM Report (AESCHEMATICREPORT) on the active drawing only.

Lets see where the disconnect happens when you have performed all these steps.

Have a read at this thread, I have explained the issue with OneDrive in this and how to setup a SQL catalog instead.
