Get an AI chat bot into the software that can use our human words expressing what we want to change our detail styles to look like. Have each installation communicate with each other to share experience model. Eventually the bot would learn what we want to see our details look like and I would be much happier. The AI can also have access to my anchor database and correct all the Hilti to be up to date. I could ask it to size bar grate based on the span and load requirement. If it didn't have the data req'd. to make the decision it would go out and find it and calculate.   I basically want an AI chatbot built into AS that I can literally tell what to do. It would be very useful if automatic isometric 3D views could generate on assembly drawings. Having to adjust the UCS every time and generate the assembly drawings individually is not an option on bigger projects. Idea:  This has been brought up before and there are some half-baked options out there (Autodesk Viewer, TrueView, AutoCAD Object Enabler).  We are in need of a desktop/mobile viewer that can markup and pull actual dimensions (and include things like apparent intersections) for Advance Steel generated shop drawings.  Ideally, this viewer would be able to be accessed from a tablet or other site/shop device.  Our shop foreman and site crews would like to be able to pull reliable dimensions.  Unfortunately, in order to have our shop foreman access the drawings and pull dimensions we have broken down and gotten him a full AS license - $2K seems like a lot of money to just pull some dimensions...    Potential Solution:  It would seem that the web version of AutoCAD Mobile would be perfect for this.  Unfortunately, it appears to lack the object enabler for Advance Steel (currently trying to view shop drawings generated from Advance Steel in AutoCAD Mobile just shows a blank sheet).  In a perfect world, if the object enabler were added to AutoCAD mobile it would be great to have Advance Steel dimension capabilities - basically the dimensions need to recognize what scale the Advance Steel objects were detailed at and scale accordingly.  I would happily pay $100/year/user for this ability.  Autodesk - are you listening: you could make additional $$$ from this. Maybe that will get their attention...   Previously Attempted Solutions:  These haven't worked out for one reason or another. The Autodesk Online Viewer: displays the items, but the dimensioning abilities are lacking (not able to do apparent intersections or other more complicated dimension styles).  Also - scaling is an issue as all dimensions come in paper space.  Scaling is available but it is a manual process and cumbersome - plus I don't really trust our shop/site guys to get that correct every time...  Autodesk TrueView with Advance Steel object enabler:  Shows the items but pulling dimensions need to be scaled manually.  Also - only available on desktop.   Base AutoCAD with Advance Steel object enabler:  Shows the items and they can be dimensioned (have to use a properly scaled dimension style).  This is probably the closest to what we are looking for - however, it is not mobile and the cost is almost as much as a standalone Advance Steel license...     Show More

How about making the angle bracing macro so we can orient the angle bracing in any direction within the macro, not by guessing at UCS direction setup. Getting the orientation of the angles correct is a huge time waster!   Since I know you won't be looking into this, how about not looking into any of my other great suggestions, some that I've asked for ten years...... I know that there already is an option to copy the registered drawings in MT, but I would like to have a third option to be prompted each time.  There are times I do want to copy the details and other times I don't.  Instead of going into MT each time or performing a full copy them deleting the documents, just prompt me and let me decide on a case-by-case basis (as an option). It would be helpful if views could be resized in all four directions rather than just getting larger or smaller from the center.  When things get moved as a project develops we either need to recut the view or make it bigger and add a wipeout over the extra.  Show More

Hello Dev team,    There are two things that have been driving me absolutely batty, wasting my time & messing up my drawings:   1. Dimension text "avoid overlapping" as a default. Hate it. In future releases can we make it a setting in Management Tools where the default can be changed?   2. Combining of labels. Make it manual of get rid of it entirely. When I have spent time editing & placing labels on a drawing only to have all my work undone when I run an update it costs time & frustration and drawings go out with errors on them where I missed the change. There are times when it might be useful, and I wouldn't mind the option to do it manually. But the automatic needs to go, especially with labels that have been edited. Show More

When we export a smlx. from AS & import it into Revit the bolts lose the grip lengths. I have tried it in multiple Revit versions with the same results.  Autodesk has stated that this is the case and that the SMLX file does not carry the grip length information across. They did provide a 'work around' though that would give you grips on the Revit side if "in the properties you uncheck the "Finish calculation at gap" and then once check and uncheck the "inverted" properties. This makes the grip length appear." The work around works but when you have a frame with multiple bolts it becomes cumbersome. Show More

The angle property is not persistent in Advance Steel. In the example below, a 15 degrees angle is specified. This results in an irreversible rotation of the steel beam about its longitudinal axis, and the only way to revert this action is to apply an angle of -15 degrees. This feature makes it hard to automate processes in Advance Steel (for example using Dynamo), because it requires the user to always note the previous value of the angle (to revert back to original if necessary). I think the angle should be a property of the steel beam, that is, something that Advance Steel remembers. What do you think?     Show More

It would be very nice if grids could be automatically dimensioned not only from axis to axis but also over the total length or from the first to the last axis via the drawing style. It would be great to have a button that would allow you to set a location anywhere on your screen for all of the pop up boxes to be set to.  For Example I run 2 screens like most people probably and when ever i open the advance properties of something or i open advance joint properties it almost always opens halfway off the screen. I then have to move it before i do anything else.  I am sure it has to do with one monitor having less resolution than the other but it would still be great to have a button that would allow me to set the location of the top left corner of any pop-up that advance steel creates.   I do want to make clear that the pop-up would not be tied to that location just open at the location and then be moved as needed. Hi Devs, It will be helpful if we get to add labels, drawing titles and dimensions to collision check in paperspace. I know they can be set to "no overlapping", but there are limitations in labeling strategies, so this will help locate collisions and save time during drawings clean-up / submittals.       Thank you.   Show More

For Assembly drawing it is not always possible to fit all drawing on 1 sheet.  I would suggest AdS needs a robust solution to provide this function.  Current workarounds and Hacks are proving to be uneconomical. Show More
