Use revit for steel detailing

Could the revit platform use for steel detailing. Where it could handle larger models. Structural analysis could perform.

Hello, sounds great idea, but revit for steel modeling is a nightmare for non standard and precision modelisation.

And currently is designed for engineers not for technicians (who do steel detailing)

So autodesk have a steel detailing software called advance steel its market share is 5% rest of the users use tekla or sds2. But for architects amd structural 99% use revit. Even though aitodesk owns both AS and revit the interoperability is terrible. Structural engineers do the 3d modeling of the structure in the revit. If the revit have the capability of detailing its much easier to collaborate with everyone.

And in bigger advantage is with the generative design tools in the revit the need of someone to create a 3d structural model from architectural model is unnecessary. If you give the load its easier for the revit to creat beams colums and other structural elements. If there are elements its much easier to do the connection automatically. Doing stairs rails and much more will be faster. Next phase of the of the software evolution is incorporating AI to the software. Who ever do this first will have a advantage over other. Revit already have AI but the tools can't use in everywhere becoz revit lack some capacity that it could have easily added in to it.
