Hello,

It will be nice to learn more about custom commands / combination of Autocad and Advance Steel commands improving productivity.

To colleagues willing to share-Thank you.

Here is a tiny example:

"Hide parts with identical numbers"-used when parts are detailed using drawings styles.

^C^C_AstM5equalpartsMarkSame \;AstM4CommSelectMarkedObjects ;_AstM4SwitchReprMode off

And another one:

"Hide Similar Advance Steel Objects":

^C^C_SelectSimilar \;_AstM4SwitchReprMode off

Here is an example when 2D is ON and the weld is placed 100s feet away.

Hi @acbsdesign ,

I use Selection Cycling (Ctrl+W) to select the right object, if several objects on top of each other. This works great for me, even for welds.

+++ impossible immediately and miracles within 3 days +++
+++ the only constant is the change +++ stay tuned for more +++
+++ since 03/2023 is Advance Steel in maintenance mode, no further development +++

@bigcarl5000kg

Selecting weld is not an issue. When 2D is on, welds get placed @z=0.
For that reason “turn 2D off” was added before placing welds.

Hi @acbsdesign ,

I mean the selection of the objects to insert the weld, with Selection Cycling turned on it is easy and error-free. You put the weld always on the place as needed.

@Sebastian_Eiche

I will post a link here, this is too good to be left somewhere unnoticed.

I believe everybody who submits ABOM would benefit from this.

Thank you again for helping.

During revisions, when updating Fab dwgs we will have to update and BOM in probably more than 75-80% of the revisions.

This command will save time not only for executing updates once, but it will also shorten the list of dwgs to be updated from DM.  The latter may be messy with 300-400 dwgs.

Update detail and BOM:

^C^C_AstM4CommDetUpdateBOM;_AstM4CommDetUpdateDetail

This is my management panel, with the most-commonly used commands on top:

acbsdesign_0-1667938749820.png

An icon is attached if someone wants to use it.

Happy Tuesday.

It's not possible, to drive the settings from this tool via command line, you need to use this tool directly - have a look in to the Tool palette:

Thank you. Yeah I thought there is shortcut to move/copy  element in one direction. This would be really time saver, as there is so much clicking to go through this pallete for move in plane view.

yes Im using it but when you are in plane view the third dimension is not locked so the moved element can go lost in the third dimension :). So yes, always be in 3D view while modeling.

Hi Kvothe. Use F8 to turn ortho on and lock the move into either XYorZ plane.
You can also use the standard AutoCAD commands. @100,0 @Anonymous,500 etc

Hi!

You also can use the filters for x, y, z

First select command (Move, copy, stretch), then select elements, and then click the required filter, and the direction is locked

I want to select all my assemblys that do have a assembly drawing and set them off in one command.

No i created a query, where i select all beams and plates that have  a assemblydrawing, but then i have to start a second command  to select these beams and plate with all connected items and set them off.

Is it possible to something that these actions are fitted in one command? Can anybody help me with this?
