Advance Steel custom commands-share your ideas

Hello,

It will be nice to learn more about custom commands / combination of Autocad and Advance Steel commands improving productivity. 

To colleagues willing to share-Thank you.

Here is a tiny example:

"Hide parts with identical numbers"-used when parts are detailed using drawings styles.

^C^C_AstM5equalpartsMarkSame \;AstM4CommSelectMarkedObjects ;_AstM4SwitchReprMode off

And another one:

"Hide Similar Advance Steel Objects":

I am using yours for the fillet with R=0, it is great looking consistent with others similar.

This is rotating UCS around X-axis, we have it already included in AS as Sebastian pointed, am I missing something?

I made the attached, what do you think?

I don't know how to make the inverse icon though?

All the standard icons have an inverse that is used for the light theme, and this is the one that the right click context menu uses, so my custom icons look awful in it, hence the RotateAli.bmp being blue not white, RotateAligned.bmp, which i prefer, was invisible in the context menu.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

in my opinion the easiest way to use such icons is to take the original and change them. The pics which you see in the Cui are exportable so it should be easy to invert the original one or do I missunderstand something? Also it's possible to edit the pic and use "save as" to create a new one

To create a inverse pic, you use the free software paint.net --> there's a command for "invert color"

My white one was adapted from the original, but I use the dark theme so that's the image it gave me to export. I don't know how to create a custom for both so it uses the dark one for the toolbar and the light one for the context menu.

maybe for the manual weld placement:

*^C^C_AstM4WeldSeam;POINT

Way to use:

• use the normal weld command and set the weld you want to define often
• then use the command *^C^C_AstM4WeldSeam;POINT
• the '*' will be used to never stop the weld command, so the user could set many weld with the same settings
• ESC will end the command

That is awesome!

I've always hated how you can't just press enter to repeat the weld point command!

Icon attached, not the best though, was hoping the repeated pink points would be clearer.

Any other icon suggestions?

dose any one have a command for hide all bolts /welds /cuts-features/ acad lines 

or alternative way   

show only as beams an plates

If all the knowledge / tips / tricks / custom commands etc of AS users are shared, we all will benefit. I hope a guy in Florida with "lateral" thinking (I am in a few miles from him today/tomorrow, may be we can have an October fest test or something) will join the thread and share more of his ideas.

Tested it, it needed an ESC mimic at the end, and it works great:

This is the greatest thread of all time!

I've added a few CCs to my shortcut menus. Sebastian's "point weld" has been the star and I added it to my DEFAULT so it's at the ready, but the others I've added to EDIT and they appear as seen below. Does anyone know how to place them in that "Advance Steel" area, I can't figure out where it is.

Similar to the procedure described in one of the first posts, type CUI, in Shortcut menus-go to Default or Edit, and drag the command to the desired location.

Ilko, the question is; where exactly is the shortcut menu that is specific to AS objects being selected? You mention DEFAULT & EDIT, and I've also looked in COMMAND as well as many others without success. In my example, I have placed some CCs within the EDIT shortcut menu. Therefore they show up when any object is selected (lines, circles, etc.). Where is the shortcut menu that relates to the AS objects? I've been through the partial CUIs and also the all the out-of-the-box shortcut menus that look promising, but I can't find the specific AS shortcut menu.
