problem getting my scale, rotate, and move to work on 3Ds Max

 i have been trying to fix this problem for my hot keys for moving scaling and rotation tool is not working the tool shows up on the objest but wont move or scale or rotate. this is urgent and need this fixed asap!

Can you attach an archive of your scene? (Application Menu > Save As > Archive)

I was thinking it was due to the Move/Rotate/Scale locks being enabled but you said it wasn't the case.

Could also be that Position/Rotation/Scale controllers are not set to the default.

Yeah, it's what I suspected. Your object Controllers are not set to the default. Perform the following:

    -Select your object

    -Go to the Motion tab > Assign Controller >

        -Select the "XRef Transform : XRef" controller (How it ended up like that, not sure)

        -Click on the Assign Controller button

        -Choose Position/Rotation/Scale

        -At the same time check and see if it's set to that for the Default (Look at the bottom of that window). If not set Position/Rotation/Scale to the default

Tell me if that works.

A word of advice, when you see a warning dialog like the one you saw when making some other controller the default - read it carefully because they're there for a reason. If you're not sure, stop and check the Help to work out if you really want to do it or not.
