Inset Issue, help!

Hi everyone, I am having an issue modeling a hexagonal shape.
Outer edges are chamfered, and when I try to Inset the upper polygon, they don't go toward center point.
Attached is prtscr so please if anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

They don't move towards the center point because that's not how "inset" works. Inset moves the vertices perpendicular to their angel, and therefore they'll "flip" when using a distance that is larger than the radius of the curve. If you want the vertices to move towards center, you'll need to scale them. So:

1) First you create a set of vertices by using the inset with a small distance

2) Then you select the new set of vertices and scale them on the x and y axis until they are where you want them

Hope it helps

Thanks a lot.
I didn't know vertices move perpendiculary to their angle.
I tried many different ways to achieve that, I even tried to inset them with a small distance but didn't go to the end.
I came up with another solution.
What I did was,I cut every opposite vertice and they all met on a center point. Then I welded the center vertices into one single vertice and chamfered them.
I got this result:

Anyway, if I tried your way I could have the same result.
Thanks again, appreciate your help.
