Why don't u people as alegorithmic substance painter &/ designer had already built of some 3d materials library don't you people do that as well, eh? I mean build some materials library for 3Ds max and link it inside 3dsmax as well, huh? So we'd chose of some say simple material to put on some 3d area and simply then we'd download it easily on our PC. Then on my fellow people you could just make some update for max so we'd download it us all and material editor won't bother us again, eh? When working in Grid mode, every created object gets aligned to the activated Grid. Except for Groups, when Groups get created in Grid mode, they get aligned to World Coordinate System. Like this, the created Group's Local Coordinate System has no meaning relative to the objects which it contains.   Using Local Coordinate System is useful in some cases, it would be nice if creating Groups this way, their Local Coordinate System would be aligned with the Working Grid.   Only way I could achieve this is to create the objects in World Coordinate System, Group them, and then align the created group to the Working Grid, but this is not very efficient. Or I always have to activate the needed Working Grid, and move the group around in Reference Coordinate System, if I want to imitate the Group's own cordinate system.   It would be useful and logical for Groups to have this feature!  Show More

Hello all, How can I highlight an edge of an object.  for example.  I have this box created in max.  created some length segs and width segs. I apply edit mesh over this. now when I goto edit mesh modifier and select edge.  I am able to select it from viewport. but I want to highlight this edge more. like a blue highlight option for full object. it is applying some color on selection. which is not suffiecient for me. The dx material has the super unhelpful "All direct X image formats" filter as the default.  Although direct x only really load dds textures and max quite happily lets you put any old texture in there if you type it. We recently moved to using tifs, so we could share our data across all our studios.  But the dx material won't let us directly pick tifs, so our artists have to type *.tif everytime to see the list, or change the drop down to *.*.  The filter should change to the regular "All formats" list so we can add any texture we like.
