Populate bake after using script won't work:

I used this script "Populate_Drop_to_Surface" to get my populate people to snap to the surface I need them on.  But if I try to bake the animation to export as a FBX to send to Maya the bake doesn't work and basically locks up max.

Work around is export as an Alembic file....materials are dumped and scale is way down....Group them to scale back up then assign materials from the FBX with no animation.

There needs to be a cleaner quicker way to do this.

I exported it out as an alembic file.  which basically bakes all the animation data into the model....but Autodesk really needs to expand alembics capabilities....

Hi @J450NP13,

first, really sorry as I posted earlier in wrong post.

Sorry to read you are having issues with Populate.

The script "Populate_Drop_to_Surface"

is this one you use, v1.1 ?

I'll have a look.

You have set up a Populate Flow, ran the script and exported as FBX.

Do I have the right steps ?

Thanks 🙂
