Why do we still implement some workarounds? I do not understand why are not generated attachments to files from applications that have Vault plugins.

We would like to hear from you on this idea. What is the workflow between NavisWorks and Vault and why is this DWF creation important inside Vault Client for NavisWorks files?

Any info on this will be appreciated.

Hi Senthil.

Some customers create large assemblies of 3D models from various industries in Navisworks. To view them every time must download all files and open in Navisworks. DWF in Vault would make job easier.

I agree with j.spiradek, this feature must be native in Vault. For us, it is much better that Vault shows this preview automatically. It is rare, that Vault has preview for office documents and for Navisworks files don´t.

Vault 2021.0.1 supports DWF creation of Navisworks files using Update View and also Job Processor. You need to have Navisoworks 2021 Manage/Simualate installed in the machine from which you create the DWF. You can also create Shared Views for Navisworks files.

I would be also nice to integrate the navisworks view engine (job) for Inventor CAD files!

Custom jobs for creating view-files based on Inventor files are possible in Vault , but those jobs would be nice as a standard from Autodesk.

DWF and DWF x are very slow - the navisworks view is much more performant
