We would love to have an end-to-end, air-tight deployment tool that would remind us of all standard use cases and settings to watch out for while deploying a new Vault Server and running updates.
Even the most seasoned IT managers sometimes have to request help from resellers to deploy a Vault sandbox or run into small issues like forgetting a migration while updating.
Some YouTube influencers have posted end-to-end deployment videos on how to do this in the most basic scenarios, but why not map those at a higher degree of complexity and run it through a wizard/installer? Detecting SQL settings is not necessary, and the idea here is not to outstretch the Autodesk application beyond its boundaries, but to convey a list or recipe of steps in interactive form (for example, "before we start, please confirm your SQL server is of a compatible version, and Windows/other updates have been installed"... etc.).
The tacit knowledge Autodesk and resellers have is so vast, but also so scattered into millions of articles and experts here and there. What isn't documented cannot be automated, but what is already documented should certainly be automated to make anyone capable of deploying Vault.
Please and thank you!
