Themes support for VDF controls

Themes support for VDF controls

Hi,

I would like to request support for using themes (Dark, Light) in the Vault DataManagement Framework contrlols like the VaultBrowserControl and the RevisionDropDownControl. Of course it would be helpful as well to be able to 'forward' the theme colors to other regular Windows Forms controls as well.

Unfortunately I don't see this one happening anytime soon.  The VDF and pretty much all of Vault's UI is based on DevExpress controls.  In order to have the rest of your solution themed, you'd need to use the base classes XtraForm, XtraRibbonForm, and/or XtraControl.  Then you'd need access to their Data Editors (XtraEditors) library so that all of the other types of controls (SimpleButton (replaces button), TextEdit (replaces textbox), LabelControl (replaces label), etc.)  skin accordingly.

Alternatively, you could license their suite of controls, the WinForms subscription is $999.00.  Autodesk had to get permission from DevExpress to allow non-subscribers to utilize the pre-built controls that they have made available.  I don't think they'd get permission for the base classes.

I've used their controls in various projects for over a decade.
