Job Processor - Allowing multiple file name definitions for PDF files

Job Processor - Allowing multiple file name definitions for PDF files

Hello VAULT team,

at the moment it is possible to customize the output file names of PDF files created with the Job Processor by modifying the Job Processor configuration file JobProcessor.exe.config.

The naming convention defined in the config file is valid for all files in the vault.

(see picture "VAULT-1" and "VAULT-3")

However, in different projects we need different definitions for the naming conventions for the created PDF files.

It would therefore be important to be able to define multiple name definitions in the config file. The application of the appropriate naming convention should be based on the file category of the file from which the PDF is to be created.

(see picture VAULT-2)

For each project, we create a project-specific file category and use it to assign the appropriate life cycle and revision scheme to the files.
Using this project-specific file category, the job processor could recognize which naming convention it should use to create the PDF file.

It would be great if these configuration options were added quickly.
Thanl you.

Please have also a look at this idea and give your vote:

In addition to this, it would be a huge Quality-of-Life update if this configuration has a GUI similar to the rename wizard or copy design.

I think the naming rules should be differentiated by all properties, not only category, for example:

<add key="DesignRepresentation.Naming" value="\.idw/<_name_>_<Revision> /Category:Office/<_name_>/Folder Path:'\$/Designs/Projects/.+'/<Project Number>_<_name_>"/>

There are 3 rules here, the first based on file extension as usual, the second based on Category, the third based on folder path with regex.

Yes, in addition to the categories, all properties should also be able to be used.
It is particularly important, however, that you can create multiple definitions so that they are applied according to the respective definition when creating the PDF.
So far, only one definition can be created and applied.
