Installation - include Management Studio with SQL

Hi,

It would make my life easier in implementation, and general testing enviroment setup, if SQL came with Management Studio out of the box.

Account management, restoring old content libraries, finding out exact SQL versions are some of the reasons I need to use it on a regular basis.

Thank you for posting your idea. To keep the install size down we try to limit the amount of 3rd party software we include in the installer.  Vault only installs one version of SQL Express with each release so it is easy to find out which version is installed.

Hi ihayesjr,

Vault server software footprint is very small, especially in comparison to client install sizes.  Most vault servers are dedicated machines and have little to no other software on them.

Trying to find out the version of SQL that a customer has retrospectively is an issue if they've applied service packs.  I can't count the number of times I've tried restoring a backup in a test environment only to be told that it's not compatible with my out-of-the-box version of SQL.

It's certainly not a priority request, but would improve QoL at my end and I would imagine it's easy to implement at yours.
