Currently, it is not possible in Vault to create "Dynamic Tree Views" that display a virtual tree based on filtered and grouped values of properties, either in the full or Thin client. However, this functionality is available in some other PDM systems.
Business case:
This is especially useful when working with people with different "experience levels".
The electricians only need to see electrical plans arranged in a virtual tree that makes sense to them, e.g., building, room, cabinet. The mechanical engineers only want to see their mechanical plans, arranged by machine number.
Note: Most of these people who only need to search for plans use the Thin Client in the workshop.
We have already analyzed some workarounds:
-Search in all properties is one way to find your plan, but there can be too many results, people don't always know what to look for, ... a visual tree that leads them to the result is much better.
-Creating a search folder that contains all files and a custom view with grouping is partially a solution in the full client...but unfortunately this functionality is currently not available in the Thin client.
