Cannot edit properties in Vault Basic 2021

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi!

I cannot longer edit properties (ctrl+E) in Vault basic. This used to work fine before. Now i run 2021.1 and i don't really know if the problem started with the latest version...

I can go to Edit properties and then i get the window up. I fill in my changes and click OK. Then i get the report which says: "successfully updated" but then when i close the window nothing has been updated on my file.

Anyone know about this problem?

Hello,

Thank you for reporting the issue. I can see this issue with 2021.1 Vault update.

Dev team will take a look at this.

Are you talking about editing:

  1. Vault properties in the Vault
  2. of about Inventor I-properties in the Vault?

If  the case is 2 then take a look at the mapping of the properties!

Sorry but for my understanding I need t know what properties you mean!

This is not clear for me.

Are you talking about editing:

  1. Vault properties in the Vault
  2. or about Inventor I-properties in the Vault, via property-mapping?

I want to change the Inventor properties from Vault, like part number, revision, title, description etc etc. I don't know if that is Vault properties or Inventor properties and I do not know what you mean with mapping the properties. I never had any problems before.

Hi,

If you want to change the inventor properties in Vault than there must be a mapping in Vault! (This is a link between them this is called mapping).

If you change is "Part number" what happens

  • Is the change visible in Vault
  • Is the change visible in the file in Inventor

Could you test that?

OK, thanks.

1. I tested create a part and checked it into Vault. Closed the partfile and removed working copy.

2. CTRL+E in Vault and changed the Partnumber. The dialog said "Succesfully updated"

3. The change of partnumber is not  visible in Vault neither in Inventor..

Next step:

  1. create a file in inventor
  2. fill in the property
  3. take a look in  Vault if the property is displayed correctly

As I stated previously, it is a known issue with the Vault update. (Vault 2021.1 update client I think)

To fix this I removed the update.

The last updates for Inventor and vault have been terrible for bugs!

The time I have lost trying to resolve problems with our Autodesk registered reseller technical department is ridiculous, to find out days later that it is a 'known issue'.

I have removed all updates, but fear the Inventor update has broken the tube and pipe section of our content center.

Fingers crossed for a rectification update . . . . . eventually.

In control panel > Uninstall or Change Program

In the side bar there is a 'view installed updates' option (see attached)

Find the vault update and uninstall.

I'm not sure its the correct method, but worked for this problem for me.
