Hi. I have severe mobility problems and need to use my mouse to sketch. Obviously, I can't mimic pressure, so I've been trying to compensate by changing sizes and opacity but cannot simulate anything looking like pencil shading. Any suggestions?
I'm really sorry to hear from your situation.
Here's what I'd suggest you to do:
Create a custom brush that resembles pencil.
Set Sketchbook Brush Pluck to "Change Size and Opacity/Flow"
Use your Pencil Brush, and set your opacity to a level lower than 30%
Paint your initial strokes, then, paint some more to get opacity at 60%
Copy the in-mid tone between your strokes, and blend in your tones in that way.
Eventually, with enough strokes you'll get to a 100% opacity, but working with lower opacities will help you blend in tones and shades.
Let me give you a brush pack I made with Pencils in mind.
I'll upload them on my Google drive and I'll share the link in another comment.

BE AWARE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO UNZIP THE FILE.
JUST RENAME THE END TO .skbrushes AND IMPORT TO SKETCHBOOK
I'm affraid that the Mobile Versions of Sketchbook doesn't support Custom Brushes.
So no, my brushes won't work with Android.
But the whole Opacity thing will work.
EDIT: Custom Brushes Link files have been deleted 🙂
