Expanding the canvas

I have an existing project that I have painted to the edge of the canvas. I have more ideas that I would like to add to it but I need to add more blank canvas around it. I've seen it done in a video somewhere but I don't know where or what software was used.

Huh? You don't know what software they used to expand the canvas?

Sketchbook has this option.

When you're drawing, go to the tabs, and click on Image.
Then on Canvas Size.
Then, set your desired size you want to expand, and be sure to select from the center to the edges.
