Simulation Stopped Importing

Hello everyone,
I am running Inventor Pro 2013 along with Simulation Mechanical 2013. I have been working with a modest sized/complexity assembly for several weeks now tweaking it in Inventor and analyzing it in Simulation Mechanical. I ran an FEA last Friday without issue. Yesterday, I made some changes to the asssembly and tried to "Launch Active Model" as usual. Simulation starts, and some quick messages pop up in the status bar ("getting data" etc), but then it stops. No error message, no freezing, nothing in Simulation. I just get a blank Simulation window as if I just opened Simulation by itself and hadn't opened a file yet. HOWEVER, Inventor freezes during this process. I do not get an error, not even the "(not responding)" on the top bar of the Inventor Window, but nothing will respond. I have to right click and close window in the taskbar to end Inventor. As long as I don't try to send the model to Simulation, Inventor runs fine.
It is also worth noting that when I open Windows Task Manager, I see an "InvHost-Win-x64.exe" running with the description "Autodesk Inventor host session import assistant". It appears when I "Launch Active Model" and when I try to open an Inventor file directly through Simulation rather than through the "Launch Active Model" in Inventor.
I appears Windows (I am running Windows 10, without major issue until now) installed an update over the weekend, so I rolled it back. Did not help.
I then tried to import a simple, single part, thinking maybe my changes to the origonal assembly cause a problem. Same behavior.
I then tried to open just Simulation and then open the Invenor assembly directly, rather than using the "Launch Active Model" command. Same Behavior
I CAN successfully open the old simulation file and work with it, but of course it doesn't include the update model geometry.
Any ideas? I am at a loss, but really need to get this FEA done.
Thanks!
