Non-Linear MES analysis time duration issues

Hi,

I am currently doing an non-linear MES analysis to see the factor of safety change over time. I wanted to run the test for at least 3 seconds. The test runs beautifully up until the 1 second mark then the animation stops. I couldn't provide a video cause the file size was too big, but I did provide pictures of the results at 1 second and a little after 1 second for comparison. I also attached a picture of my parameters.
Thanks,

Jim

If you need the video, I can maybe send it some other way.

Hello Jim,

You say that "the animation stops".  I'm not sure what that means so I will take a guess based on the results images you sent.

After 1 second the maximum safety factor jumps from 9.08 to  54.53 making it seem that there is no distribution in the results.  Am I correct?

Doe the analysis run to completion?

We would really have to look at the model so please post the archive file if possible.

Regards,

Hi @Anonymous

Do you have any update on this?

  • Did the analysis continue to solve for the entire duration?
  • What happens to the displacement and stress results for the time steps that you do have?
  • Does the load change after 1 second? Or stated another way, did you extend the load curve beyond the default input of 1 second?
