I have a following task to be solved. Can you kindly invest your valuable time in it?
I have created a new variable using python script in ABAQUS. The script is running fine. Now I am interested in making a plug-in instead of running the file manually. It will be kind, if you can provide me your experience or advice on this topic.
My script collects the stress values from the odb file, writes it into rpt files, access the excel file, run the excel VBA macros(to do the necessary calculations), save it as CSV file, creates a new odb file, creates the new variables, opens the CSV Files, reads it and exports the data into ABAQUS for creating a new variable.
I want to call the kernel script as plugin and also want a GUI to get input from the user. For example as below
>Open the excel file
>Open the csv file
>Run the whole script to display the new variable.
I know how to create a GUI when it comes to creating a part of a model. But for this large script which I have made I don’t know how to proceed.
I have watched sample plug-in videos such as plug-in for creating a plate for a model and read about plug-in in ABAQUS USER MANUAL.
