Results for core wall not parallel to the global axes

Hello All,

 

I have in my model an inclined core wall by an angle in the plan ( see picture below ), the issue is if I assigned a core wall the result will be given according to the global axis which is not the case, any solution for this problem??Core Wall.PNG

Hi @Anonymous

 

There are two options I can think of:

 

1. Rotate the model so that the core walls are parallel to the global coordinate system

2. Manually convert the results from the global to local axes ( I wish it was an automatic tool either Smiley Sad)

Hi @Anonymous

 

To make you 'less' sad - mind that the directions of the seismic excitation are parallel to the global axes too therefore having the core walls not in-line with the directions of the excitation my not be the perfect choice anyway Smiley Happy
