Frame Offsets with Robot Structural Analysis Link 2015

I've upgraded to Autodesk BDS 2015 with a clean install of the workstation. I saw that new Robot Link is now built-in to Revit. The option: "use drawing model offsets as analytical" is not present anymore and the new Robot Link does not transfer offsets by default.

So I thought that it might be implemented in future and tried to move on with old functionality and installed Structural Analysis Toolkit 2015. Unfortunately I couldn't have the previous version of the Link. I uninstalled Toolkit 2015 and installed Toolkit 2014 without any luck. Now I'm confused, how do I link a Revit 2015 model to Robot with drawing model offsets sent as analytical offsets? Thanks

Well it's really a confusing and disappointing decision of development team to remove a well implemented and fully functional feature... Even if the offset is defined in Robot now it is not transferred back to Revit !

May I ask why such a fundamental structural analysis concept is left out suddenly?

Hi Rafal,

I would like to learn if removing drawing model offsets is a permanent decision or may come back in future releases? Do you offer any alternative method for transferring offsets? Depending on this, we will re-evaluate our modelling practices; I believe this functionality is frequently utilized by other users as well. Thanks

I am very sorry but due to Autodesk policy we can not discuss about future development plans.
Please assume this functionality is removed now.

I must agree that function "Use drawing model offsets as analytical" is very useful, I might even say it is one of the core features why would anyone use Revit to Robot transfer.

I don't see the point in transferring the whole model and then adjusting everything manually. Neither do our clients who upgraded to latest version of Robot and Revit just to learn that they've made a mistake.

Not to mention that material options are missing too (among others).

And also there are a lot of strange and sloppy bugs, such are those described at my post here:

It is possible to use the ancient dialog box, clicking Ctrl Key + Robot Structural Analysis Link command.

If we do it this way, Additional Options appear (red), including Use drawing model offsets as analytical (green)

I cannot say how it works, because an error happens.

However, I think this error concerns to another issue, because if I do not hold Ctrl Key (that is to say, I do it normally), classic Unkown Run-time error appears.

Say goodbye to defining offsets manually or After a while crocodile 😂

Now you don't need to use Ctrl Key + Robot Structural Analysis Link command and get errors.

Because we are just releasing our plug-in R2R: Transfer Offsets. It basically calculates the offsets and enables you to send them to Robot easily. You may choose to set Local or Global offsets. Just make sure you set the Marks correctly.

Justification offsets are supported too! Wola!
