Today I would like to share some observation on “inactive” or “disappearing” elements in the Robot model. You may also check these topics related to the described issue:

A short description of the issue – one day, after opening the .rtd file a user may notice that some elements (bars and/or panels) represented by the dotted lines:
These elements cannot be selected using a selection frame or Select All command.
The user is able to select “inactive” elements by number or using LMB click. Also, these elements can be selected using Select dialog. After opening in new window, the graphical representation of the “inactive” elements became regular:
The user can reach the same effect for the whole model by clicking Hide inactive button on the Group tab in the Object Inspector:
However, this is not only a graphical issue. It is not possible to input numbers for “inactive” elements in the Load table. In case if the load was assigned by Load definition dialog, the load record will be with empty List field:
The Delete empty loads command from the RMB context menu will delete this load as well as other empty load records.
Opening .rtd file in Repair mode will help, but after some time the user has a huge chance to receive “inactive” elements again. After using Repair mode, I would highly recommend to check all loads, especially if in the model self-weight was defined for the part of the structure (a common approach when we have steel and concrete elements in the one common model).
Another temporary solution is to create a new project using command Geometry > Structure > select *.rtd file type > Insert from file and indicate the corrupted .rtd file.
I have submitted some examples and a short video in February 2017, but the problem still unsolved. The issue has a strong impact on load application which may lead to the serious aftereffects.
