(API) Diaphragmer - work with diaphragms in another way

Hello everyone,

As you might know from this post https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis-forum/diaphragm-problem-to-be-corrected/m-p...

there are several issues with diaphragms in Robot:

  1. The master node for the diaphragm is located in the geometric center of the slab. The diaphragm master node should be in the projected center of gravity of the story on the floor slab level.
  2. If in the model we have more than one floor slab in the same level, the diaphragm will be created for each slab individually. The diaphragm should be one for each level.
  3. It is not possible to assign loads to the master node and get results (eigenvectors etc.). Also, this node is not considered in FE mesh. The master node should be accessible as a common regular node in Robot.

While Robot development team is still sleeping waiting for financing improving performance, I would like to present the solution to the above-mentioned issues – the Diaphragmer.

The Diaphragmer is now live in the Autodesk App Store:

Romanich=Best Robot Developer of the world!!!

Impressive and useful tool, that demonstate a lot of things:

1) Romanich is the best, absolutely the best!

2) Robot is the best, because give to simple user (but Roman is not a simple user, but a genius!!!) the opportunity to use Robot Engine to develop itselfs powerfull tools. No other software have this plus;

3) adsk, after about ten years from the acquisition of Robot still not understood this power and let the user, instead of itself, develop the software...

adsk, keep Robot alive and up to date!

Romanich, tons of compliments for your tool.

The Diaphragmer was updated to 1.1 version (the first post in this topic was modified):

 - now it is possible to use any Excel file (template can be generated in one button click)

- Certificate Romanich.pfx was updated for 10 ten years

I tried to publish the Diaphragmer in the official Autodesk App Store but this attempt was not successful - too many rules and unnecessary requirements.

@mustafahesenow  ; @Romanich

Hi,

When I use the Diaphragmer, the "Total mass" verification (in "Dynamic analysis Results") does not work. I get much less "total mass" when I put the diaphragm centers at locations calculated with the Diaphragmer.

When the diaphragm is created automatically by Robot, the "Total mass" is matching with the actual mass of the structure i.e. with load cases used in modal analysis.

For this check I used only 2 load cases in modal analysis. DL1 (selfweight) and DL2 (superimposed dead). In mass conversion I have put only DL2 as DL1 is selfweight and is converted automatically. For this check LL1 is not participating in modal analysis.

Am I doing something wrong?

Files attached. As this website has not allowed me to upload the Robot files, I have put both Robot files in this folder on my google drive:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JCHwA6z8GFxuOp1YarH8H1oSqLHX37xw?usp=sharing

Thanks,
Alex
