Add support to edges of multiple walls

Hello,

I am trying to add a pinned linear support to a large number of walls in a clever way. I have modelled all the walls so it is _Edge(3) of each wall that must be supported.

So far i figured out to mark all the walls, copy the range, open "Geometry -> Supports -> Linear -> Pinned" and then i paste the range into current selection.

The walls are 250to450.

I can then go ahead and write 250_Edge(3) 251_Edge(3) 252... etc to add the linear support to all the nr 3 edge of all the walls.

However it would be quite time consuming, so i am wondering if it is possible to do this someway simpler

When i check the support table, it's written as in the screenshot attached.

It can be fastly done using excel.

text file to your needs attached.

Just ctrl A , Ctrl C and then paste on the support window dialog.

It can also be pasted copying directly from excel

Hmm, that was actually a really clever idea.

In time i would probably like to come up with a script for ROBOT to do it, but the excel method will work for now.

Thanks alot.

Best,

Nicolai

Probably you already know but anyway,
If these linear supports are at the same level ( or almost), you can select panels 250to450 and open them in another window. Then using "window" selection you can select all the edge_3 edges at once.

Actually, i didnt.

I have already created a new window which i used to determine which walls i want to support. The walls are almost in the same level, so your method should work, but i am unsure what menus you are refering to?

If i have all the walls in a seperate  view, how do i select all the _Edge(3) ?
