I am trying to use the text generator tool in my extentions tab, but it will not open selected word files. I get errors when I try. Any idea what's going wrong? I've tried .docx and .doc files, neither will open.

😄 probably he meant to address Autodesk directly (I am assuming you have a subscription and not a student account) and this is more of a user forum than Autodesk Support.

I personally have never used this extension...sorry can't help

I think the best text generator is weird text on fontvilla. This is a very good text generator.

I have seen this where an update to Revit has been applied and the Addin is out of Sync with the Revit Version.

check your Revit Version and then compare on the Addin Developers website to ensure you are using the latest compatible release.

The issue might be that the extension doesn’t support .doc or .docx files directly. Try converting the Word file to a .txt format and then loading it. Also, make sure the file isn’t corrupted and that your browser and the Brat generator extension have permission to access local files.
