there is the Create Assembly tool, but some of that relies on the detail level that you making the assembly from was drawn at. you can select an item and pick create Assembly (next to the Create Group) tool. this will make a new category in the project browser, all the way at the bottom. select the assembly in the project browser, right click and pick create assembly views...
you now have the option to create views from that element.
i'm not sure this will give you what you are looking for, but is what Revit offers. you also have the ability to just model it in all its detail, but at that point why not use Inventor :-).
