Revit to AutoCAD

Hello,

Is there anyway to "Live link" a Revit model to AutoCAD? I have exported DWGs from Revit into AutoCAD but they don't update as changes are made in Revit and have to be re-exported every time a change is made. I created the model in Revit but would like annotation and printing done in AutoCAD. Any suggestions?

Nope, AutoCAD doesn't work like that.

As Pendean  said It doesn't work like that.

As soon as you export out of Revit any intelligent Live link is lost and you have 'dumb' dwg's.

You can still do all of the AutoCAD 2D stuff in Revit, (It might just take you a bit longer).

Obviously doing it all in Revit the advantage is as you make model changes all views update.

My suggestion is to stay on one software (Revit). Revit and Autocad are like water and oil. They flow, but they don't mix into one another.

Why would you use Microsoft Pain(t) when you have Photoshop? I mean Revit.

I found after a long time that Revit annontation is simpler than Autocad anno. You just have to use it long enough to get the advantages. No more snapping to the wrong endpoints. In Revit you just snap edges instead of elusive Autocad points.

As for printing, i use a free extension called ProSheets. I export all my views and sheets to pdf and dwg at once. Anybody can print from pdf, right?
