Problem with Generic Model from IFC

Hi everyone:

Currently on my  job we are working with Revit to add the structural rebars to concrete elements, the working flow is the following:

Modeling  of  solids (footings, slabs, columns, etc.):  AVEVA E3D

then the modeled elementsare exported to REVIT via IFC, as Generic models (to avoid further modifications)

Then the generic models are added with structural rebars.

The problem is:  some elements that have voids, or empty spaces, revit doesn´t recognize them properly as generic models and cannot be editted or select the edges, faces or joints (only select the entire element ). is there a way to solve this issue?

i attached a file with an example

I am pretty sure if you created a round edge with a fillet in a generic model Revit will show it as how it is. if your worried about it not showing you can always add a void extrusion within the generic model of the shape you want.
