i'm not sure if this is what you are looking for.....
If you go to the design bar under basics and click beam in the options bar you'll see usage there you can select if you want a joist, girder etc.....

Revitcity doesn't have anything direct on joist girders.
Hope Autodesk will include Joist Girders/Lintels in next version.

Any one figured out lintels yet?

I have setup and tested two preliminary JG families. One does not permit
bottom chord extensions, and the other doesn't permit variable seat
extensions. Do to the way I set it up, I have not yet incorporated both
sets of functionality into a single family. It was a bit tricky because
of the equidistant panel spacing array required, and the fact that the
end panel length must accommodate the proper (standard) seat length to
maintain the correct panel point spacing across the entire JG.

For lintels, insert them as you would a beam. I presume you're having
difficulty with them showing correctly in the correct plan. You need to
change the vertical projection to remedy this.

Maybe these BIM/Parametric tools available from Canam Buildings will work.

Vulcraft also has a good utility for joist girders and special profile joists http://vulcraft.com/bim-technology/revit

the canam tools are very old and have not been updated in a long time.

Thanks for the update.  They may serve my purpose as they will only be used for OWSJ creation so that I may coordinate sprinkler piping in joist spaces.
