IFC export option include steel elements messing up columns and connections

when exporting the model to  IFC ( IFC2x3 coordination view 2.0) and option " include steel elements" ticked in the IFC model the:

structural columns

  • appear in wireframe
  • base level and offset is wrong (see attachment)
  • missing profile name etc

Structural connections

  • appear in wireframe

When " include steel elements"  ticket off the columns apear in the IFC model okay, but connections are not exported

is there a way to correctly export all steel components to IFC ?

thank you for your input in advance

Hello

The option "include steel elements " create a bug with steel position in model.

Seems to be with the fabrication shape functionality.

You can search on the GITHUB page of IFC exporter to add a ticket.

Only possibilty is to export as DWG to get the full LOD.

And personaly i've already posted some threads about problems with IFC export & steel, To say it's the only way.

Sorry.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Are the issues reproducing on the Revit default Export to IFC feature?

To do this:

1. Uninstall the IFC Exporter. (you can install it back, after the testing)

2. Open the Revit project, export an IFC file (File->Export->IFC) and open it in Solibri, or another IFC viewer.

Are the issues that you mentioned reproducing?

Regards,
