How to create a 3D view from a callout?

Hi

I remember doing this when I was at uni, but I can't remember how it was done; basically, we were able to make 3D views from a section cut without having to find it in the default 3D view. What I want is a 3D view of the below image (which I can do by finding it in the default 3D view and saving a custom 3D of it, but I know there's a quicker way)

First Create a Callout-->Open Default 3D view-->Right click on View cube-->select orient to view--> Select Floor Plans-->Find your CAllout plan name--> There you have it. The easiest way I can think of.

Select some of the elements in that view and use Selection Box tool, then stretch the section box as needed.

This wont save my 3D view it just converts it to a 2D and wont let me rotate or move it. Any fixes?
