Making elevations show on one view only

Hi

Is it possible to create an elevation symbol that only shows up in the current view . E.g., I want to show the top of steel of a frame, but that frame isn't anywhere else and would be useless to see in any other view. I Suppose I can use an annotation detail symbol, but in doing so I lose the datum information (I think?)

how About creating detail line as a datum level and attaching spot elevation from Annotate tab-->dimensions. give it a try.
