Having issues with rebars not recognizing my opening

Hey everyone,
I am trying to cut the horizontal rebars to match the opening through "edit constraints" but revit won't let me. I have managed to do so with the vertical rebars.
I would really like some quick assistance
Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

Free form rebar in a round column is a special case because the bar ends are not pointing to anything (you know that free form rebar gets trimmed at the concrete face), so they overlap by a distance that you can specify.

This is very similar to how round stirrups behave.

This means that currently those bars cannot stop at the opening.

If the host surface does not define a full circle, the bars are not in this special case and will get trimmed back at the selected opening faces.

Something that you can do in this situation, is to create a slice of the concrete element as an additional geometry (that you ignore in schedules) and use that to define the set around the opening.

This could look like this

Would it work if we have a spacer of even 10mm? because our man design purpose for this are the holes

If you add that space, the bars will not overlap. If you also need the overlap outside of the opening, the additional geometry would work better.
