Create parts -> Coarse or medium ?

When you create parts of a family, i noticed it will always use the geometry from the "Fine" setting of the family.

Is there any way to let it pick the coarse or medium setting from the family?

Always taking the fine setting is very undesirable.

in the family, select the element (line, extrusion, etc...) and pick Visibility Settings. then you can pick how you want it displayed.

Yes, i am familiar with that option, though it has no effect on part creation.

When you create parts from your family, it will always take the fine setting and ignore anything set in the menu you pointed out, as well as the active view where you are in creating the parts.

sorry, misunderstood.... when you said "parts of a family" i didn't realize you meant Parts. 🙂
