Randomly cannot save my project. Not sure where this should go in the forums but I work mainly on structures so I figured here will do.

This is the second time I'm getting this error today and I've had work colleagues get similar errors and no one seems to know why or how to fix it?

As you can see from the image there are no background calculations running. They're also all turned off where possible. I have no idea how to get around this issue.

So like, can we get this fixed? It's been identified as an issue for at least a year now. I would think that not being able to SAVE YOUR WORK without googling a workaround should meet the threshold for getting your dev team on this asap, no?

I'm on 2023.1.1.1 and this is still an issue.

I have the same problem and it seems the problem is because of the network calculation processes.

Hi, Simply press Ctrl+Z on the keyboard until the problem disappears, then press Ctrl+Y to recover the changes prior to the issue, press Ctrl + S, so you can save again...that is it.

Good luck

The solution of opening another file is a nice bypass but not real solution as it doesn't adress the cause of the problem. I thought it started by rotating a plate on a side view but deleting it didnt help. a few conncetions and modifies, weld points that tried to delete - also didnt help. we need to find the real cause.

Hi,

This is still a issue. Revit 2023.1 verision.

Can we get a proper fix for this?

Add a check to the save function (If background calculation takes more then 60s then reset or break them/ask the user if they want to reset /& break the background calculation)

Since opening a new project makes it savable, it's not an issue that we need to wait for the calculations to be completed.

First the "RevitWorker" task must be finished, then you can just edit a family that you introduced and created yourself. next you only have to save it once and then load the family in the project.

Thank you, Matine, I did the same, however, it took so long, and I forgot the inquiry I had made.

I had the same issue, none of the autodesk suggested workarounds worked. What I found to be my problem, and looks like to be the problem with a few users on here as well, is working with plates and bolts. Did this undo method by doing a few actions at a time, until i found it. I'd suggest go and look at the last plate or bolt you edited.

This happens to me often. Your solution is beyond useful. Thank you. Undo x n then redo x n always works

@Anonymous

This Problem has gotten alot worse with 2024. I now get this with foundation walls as well. Also it will do this every single time I edit a connection.

The workarounds work fine but Revit is failing.

Agreed. Once it starts doing it in R24 you're doomed to need a restart once you have applied the fix. Any attempt at working with connections and it starts up again.
