Underlay Problems Revit MEP

Does anyone know a way to use the Underlay feature effectively with Revit MEP? I watch Revit videos showing how easy it is to view the furniture plan from a ceiling view. But in MEP this simply does not work as you cant use the underlay feature for the linked in architectural model.

I just want to use the underlay feature in Revit MEP as it is described in the video but I cant. Any help much appreciated!

You’re correct, it doesn’t work very well with linked models. I believe it can be done by setting up views in the link, then in the host model VG specifying that particular linked view as the underlay rather than using by host or by link.

When I need an underlay though I usually use two standard views sitting on top of one another - not ideal though.
