Is there a Revit MEP version any more, or is there just Revit? I have a Revit MEP 2012 book. What is the latest or best book for learning Revit.

no there isn't an MEP version anymore, they put all 3 into 1. As far as learning it goes i would honestly say just mess around in it then google when you hit issues, or take a class with a reseller (i recommend this as a starting point if your brand new).

Hi B Dawson:

There are two common Revit MEP books that I'm aware of.  We use the Ascent book "Autodesk Revit 2018 MEP Fundamentals" in our classroom training. There is also a "Mastering Autodesk Revit MEP" book from Sybex, but I don't think it has been updated for 2018 (or 2017?).

There may be a few others that I'm not aware of.

I would also echo what John said -- taking a class from an Autodesk training center / reseller is a great idea. I've been an advocate of live hands-on training, even before I became an instructor.

(Full disclosure: I teach Revit MEP.)

Thanks for the info. I am considering the Video-Enhanced eBook, from Ascent, because it has included linked video lessons. Any thoughts on that? My dilemma with that is they do not offer a hard copy of the book with that, and I would prefer to have a hard copy to make notes, book mark pages, etc.

On a side note, I worked with an Architect named Tony Crawford. lol

Huh. that is funny.

I've never met anyone else with my name.

I understand what you mean about preferring a hard copy of a book. I still like to have a paper book if it is something I'll use for a reference.  I'll bookmark pages, highlight areas, write my own notes, etc.

If it helps, you can still get the official Autodesk Revit MEP user's guide in .PDF format, that you could print out.  It is free,.. but the catch is that the last time they created an official users guide was for the 2011 release of the software:

 http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/revit_mep_2011_user_guide_en.pdf

To the best of my knowledge, the same information from the user's guide is in the current online Revit help systems where it gets updated every year. But, if you want something that can be printed to hard copy, then this might be an option. and its only 2100 pages long.
